Night Whisperer

This is a dark, introverted study of blue, and makes one big visual statement. Varying black, French ultramarine blue, and a brighter cerulean blue. The painting reminds me of how color is experienced in a somnambulist state. Brighter colors randomly emerge out of darkness, and recede again. In a sort of floating moving equilibrium.

Here, the stripes recess below the entire ensemble, and can be discerned after a prolonged stare at the canvas. A ghost of the structure that started the painting, then abandoned.
